VACUUM POWDER TRANSFER

Compared to other commonly used principles such as dilute phase or overpressure conveying, this technology offers valuable advantages.

The transfer of dense phase powders allows, among other things:

  • not to create any de-mixing of the powders

  • not to generate electrostatic charges (transfer speed from 3 to 8 ms-1)

  • not to use ambient air as a vector

  • not to create attrition of the transferred powders

  • to work in total containment

  • to be energy efficient

Principle of operation

The principle is simple: the powders or granules are sucked up thanks to the depression generated by a vacuum unit (electric or venturi) towards a cyclone and this up to 80m of distance and 30m of elevation.

This suction cyclone is equipped with a butterfly valve (or other depending on the process), a level probe to optimize the filling / emptying cycles and a filtration system (polyester or ePTFE) allowing the separation of fines from air.

The flow rates obtained by this type of vacuum powder conveyor range from 10 to 12,000 liters / hour with the main advantages of low energy consumption, simple and quick cleaning and simplified maintenance (no moving mechanical parts, use of clamps , SMS couplings, tilting bolts, etc.) and completely secure.

The most common applications are the suction of powders from bags, drums, containers, vacuum bags, big bags or silos in order to feed mixers, reactors, tablet press, packaging line, buffer hopper, kneaders and much more. more besides !
